Mayor Brenda Bethune signed a “State of Emergency” declaration at noon Sunday ahead of Hurricane Florence.
This according to a press release from the City of Myrtle Beach. That order gives the city the ability to implement emergency measures, if needed, in response to Hurricane Florence.
Mayor Bethune is urging residents to take the time now to prepare for the storm. She also stated that residents need to be ready to evacuate should the order be given.
City offices will open as usual Monday.
