MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach Public Works crews are attempting to repair a broken sewer line on Canal Street near the Mary C. Canty Recreation Center.
Myrtle Beach City Spokesperson Mark Kruea says the 24-inch line broke Monday morning, and while it’s unclear what caused the break, the sewer line is roughly 30-years-old. Crews are excavating the area Monday afternoon to determine how much damage was done.
Kruea says he’s unsure how much, if any, sewage seeped out of the line. There is no estimated time of completion with the repair.
