The city of Myrtle Beach is hoping to build a database and heat map of coyote sightings in the area, according to a post on Facebook.
This comes as coyote encounters are on the rise across the area. The city created a website for residents to report coyote sightings so the city can use the data to map out sighting locations.
There are five levels of sighting; Observation, Sighting, Encounter, Incident, and Attack. The page also includes a map and addressing feature, which allows you to enter the exact location where a coyote was spotted.
You can make your report to the city on the website here.
