Two people died after a motorcycle crash on International Drive. 

According to Horry County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief John Fowler, the single vehicle crash happened around 1:47 a.m. on Wednesday. The two people that died were both on the motorcycle. 

Fowler couldn’t confirm where on International Drive the crash happened. 

Cpl. Sonny Collins, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, says around 1:40 a.m., a state trooper tried to stop two motorcycles observed going about 74 m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h. zone on Highway 17 Bypass in the area near International Drive and the Robert M. Grissom Parkway. 

According to Collins, when the trooper turned their lights on to conduct a traffic stop, one of the motorcycles carrying two people accelerated and crashed.

The two motorcyclists killed in the crash are identified as Raymond Stallings, 36, and his wife, Kerri Stallings, 28, both of Myrtle Beach. Both individuals died of multiple traumatic injuries at the scene, confirms Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

The Horry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
