A flight bound for Myrtle Beach returned to a New York airport shortly after takeoff on Thursday due an odor in the cabin.
“Frontier Airlines flight 1851 from MacArthur Airport (ISP) to Myrtle Beach (MYR) returned to its origin shortly following departure after an odor was detected in the cabin,” a statement from Frontier Airlines says. “Safety is the top priority at Frontier, and the flight returned out of an abundance of caution. There was no smoke and the aircraft landed safely.”
“As is customary, anybody requesting a medical evaluation received one. One crew member and two passengers were transported for medical evaluation,” the statement also says. The flight was canceled for a maintenance check to be performed.
Passengers on the flight received a voucher for future travel with the airline.
