MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach International Airport announced Thursday morning the final numbers for 2018 passengers, with a 10.5% increase in travelers over 2017.
MYR says airlines operating out of the airport reported 2,509,874 total passengers, an increase of 231,909 over 2017.
MYR released the following statement: “During 2018, a record number of passengers passed through the Myrtle Beach International Airport,” said Scott Van Moppes, director of airports. “In total our airline partners carried nearly one quarter million more passengers this year, smashing last year’s passenger count record. All-in-all, 2018 was a fantastic year as air carriers serving the Grand Strand introduced new nonstop air service between 13 new markets, aggressively expanding service options into the spring and fall seasons while adding three year-round markets to our route offerings. We thank our airline partners for their continued commitment to MYR and confidence in our destination, Myrtle Beach, SC.”
This year airlines serving MYR will offer non-stop air service to and from 50 markets around the United States and Canada.
