Missing woman indicates she was kidnapped and raped, Myrtle Beach police say

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – While Myrtle Beach police investigated the disappearance of a woman early Tuesday morning, she walked up to them and apparently indicated she’d been kidnapped and raped.

Police responded to the Sea Banks Hotel on Ocean Boulevard at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday after getting a call from the victim’s boyfriend. He told police she disappeared about four hours earlier when he went to the bathroom at a gas station on 3rd Avenue South, an incident report says.

The woman returned to the Sea Banks Hotel as police reviewed surveillance video to confirm her boyfriend’s story.

The incident report doesn’t share what the woman said, but it does give a few clues as to what happened. It says a handgun was used for the rape and kidnapping. It gives a description of two suspects. One of their profiles is very vague, the other describes a tall and thin white man in his twenties, who possible goes by “Mike”, with a tattoo on his left upper cheek. The report also mentions a four-door black Honda.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and a rape kit.

Police haven’t said whether they’ve identified the suspects or if they’re actively looking for anyone.
