The Myrtle Beach Police Department is now accepting applications for its 36th Citizens Police Academy.
The academy runs for 10 weeks and is held twice a year, according to the department’s website. The class meets on Mondays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
To attend the academy, you must live in Horry County, be at least 21 years old, have a driver’s license, and undergo a background investigation and a criminal history check. Applicants must also complete at least 15 hours of ride-along time, which includes day shifts, night shifts, and overnight shifts. For more information visit the department’s website.
