The Myrtle Beach Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard responded to a reported gas leak in the Grande Dunes Marina area Friday night.
Lt. Jonathan Evans, spokesman for the department, says responding crews are attempting to mitigate the situation.
The U.S. Coast Guard says it sent an investigator to the scene and found diesel was spilling from a wrecked boat. An official said the diesel fuel was unrecoverable.
The Myrtle Beach Fire Department says DHEC was also notified.
