GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – A single-car crash in Georgetown County early Tuesday morning killed one person, confirms the coroner’s office.
South Carolina Highway Patrol says the crash happened on Rose Hill Road near Carvers Bay Road around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The driver veered off the road, hitting a ditch and then a tree before the car flipped.
Fred Donnie (D.J.) Cribb, III, 24, was killed in the crash, confirms Georgetown County Deputy Coroner Chase Ridgeway.
Troopers say Cribb was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The coroner says the cause of death is multiple body trauma.
A cause of the crash had not been determined.
