Loris Middle School teacher works to help students make documentaries about Hurricane Florence

One Loris Middle School teacher started a campaign to get video equipment for students to make a documentary about Hurricane Florence.

The campaign called Perseverance: A Documentary of Our Hurricane Experience, is asking for enough money to purchase five cameras and accessories to help the students document their experience.

Krystal Eaddy, a seventh grade ELA teacher at Loris Middle School, says the project would help students learn to responsibly use digital media while using skills they learn in her class.

Students told News13, they believe the project would help them heal from the devastation the hurricane caused and help them relate to their classmates.

“It’s important to look back on what we went through and how we came out of it and how life is better now,” Laila Bromell, a seventh grader at Lorris Middle School said.
