Several local Mellow Mushroom restaurants held a fundraiser on Wednesday for hurricane and flood victims.
The four restaurants, in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet and Florence, will donate 10 percent of their proceeds on Wednesday to the “Waccamaw Community Foundation Disaster Fund,” which serves Horry and Georgetown Counties.
“It’s more than just serving food, it’s serving people. We get time to actually help out people, and that’s what this restaurant is all about,” says Chelsea Ashton Waters, a waitress at Mellow Mushroom.
The fundraiser continues until 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
