HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver in a single-vehicle crash was killed Tuesday morning on Secondary 31.
Cpl. Sonny Collins says the crash happened on Secondary 31 around 1:45 a.m. when a 2011 Nissan traveling north ran off the left side of the road, hit a ditch, then struck a tree. The only occupant of the vehicle was the driver, who died in the crash.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden confirms the victim is 24-year-old Michaela Gandy, of Latta.
Troopers say it’s unknown if Gandy was wearing a seatbelt.
