The Highway 31 extension in Myrtle Beach will not be ready until 2019 due to the recent hurricanes.
No specific completion date has been announced.
The project began in 2014.
“Just like all of our other critical infrastructure projects here in Horry County, we’re anxious to get that work done. It makes it easier to get around town. We’re going to see, you know, better travel for our visitors, but also better travel for our locals,” said Kelly Moore, public information officer for Horry
County. “So, we’re anxious to get those ride two projects wrapped up and move on to those ride three projects that everybody is excited to see get underway.”
The project is fully paid for by the state infrastructure bank and the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
