MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach will collect flood relief donations at a full moon party Sunday night.
According to a post on the city’s Facebook page, the Full Moon Party in Chapin Park this Sunday will be an opportunity for neighbors to bring supplies to donate for flood relief.
The party is 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday in Chapin Park, 1410 North Kings Highway. The free event features live music and performances by the local arts community.
VOAD (Waccamaw Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster), along with WMYB Energy 92.1 and the City of Myrtle Beach will collect donations for Hurricane Florence flood victims at the event. Acceptable donations include:
- Cleaning supplies (all kinds)
- Personal hygiene items
- Baby needs and food
- NO WATER OR CLOTHING ACCEPTED

In addition, a “Help the Grand Strand” disaster recovery fund is in place to provide relief and recovery support. Funds raised will be used for human services that may be unmet, to help residents recover as quickly as possible.
To give online, visit https://www.waccamawcf.org/disasterrelief/ and scroll down to the “Donate Online” section. In the drop-down box, specify the “Help the Grand Strand” fund. Donations will offer assistance to local residents who’ve been affected by Florence’s aftermath.
To give in other ways, mail a check payable to the Waccamaw Community Foundation with “Help the Grand Strand” Recovery Fund in the memo line. Or call the Foundation at 843-357-4483, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., to make a contribution by telephone. Note: The Foundation may be on limited hours due to the storm.
