Horry County Solicitor Jimmy A. Richardson, II filed petitions on Monday to close Remedies Bar and Grill, Klocker’s, and Audry’s Lounge for at least a year, calling the businesses a “public nuisance.”

The petitions state Jason Klocker is the owner of both Remedies Bar and Grill and Klocker’s, which share a back parking lot on the 4800 block of U.S. Hwy. 17 S. in Myrtle Beach.

According to the petitions, police have been called to this parking lot twice. On November 17, 2016, a suspect struck Corey Chestnut in the back of the head with a handgun, causing a laceration to Chestnut’s head. On April 28, John Fox was shot three times in the abdomen and once in the hand during an altercation. The suspect who shot Fox was later arrested and found carrying marijuana, several tinfoil balls containing heroin, and a handgun.

The petitions also say Audry’s Lounge is a nightclub operated out of a wooden shed next to the home of Okera Hakam Uzoma and Audry Demetria Uzoma in Longs. The date of Audry’s opening is unknown, but the business has never had a permit or a license to operate and is located in an area zoned for only residential use.

Police have responded to Audry’s Lounge multiple times. On March 16, 2015, officers responded to a call for someone shooting Okera Uzoma’s car 13 times and the shed where the lounge is located once after an altercation between Uzoma and the suspect. On July 30, 2015, Ickel T. Stanley died of a gunshot wound after an altercation at the lounge. On March 24, Larry Wilson Jr. died of three gunshot wounds to the chest. Police have also responded for noise complaints and issued tickets for operating a business without a license.

No information on when the petitions could be approved has been released.
