Crooks and thieves seem to always be after your personal information, Friday in Conway the Horry County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the AARP and Shred 360 to help curb identity theft.
The groups got together for a free shred event to help people destroy important documents with sensitive personal information.
“This shred alert event is a way for us to be able to connect to the community and in a way for us to promote protection against identity theft.” Said Brooke Holden with the Horry County Sheriff’s Office.
We are told Friday’s event was a huge success and that the Sheriff’s Office may host another one later this year.
