Horry County released a new app for smartphones to make finding information in the county easier.
On Tuesday, the county launched a new app for smartphones called “HC Connect.”
The app allows people to submit service requests for issues including beach wheelchairs, mosquitoes, roads, or drainage concerns.
The app can also be set up to notify residents of rezoning requests or crimes in your neighborhood. Parks, boat landings, beach access areas, and directions are also in the app.
“That’s what this app gives the citizen the ability to do is say this is my world and I want to know what’s going on in my little corner of the world,” said Tim Oliver, Director of IT/GIS for Horry County.
The “HC Connect” app can also send emergency alerts based on where you live. The app should be available in the app store for Apple and Android by Wednesday.
