Horry County police seek man who is wanted, may be a risk to himself or others

Horry County police are looking for a man who they say is wanted and may be a risk to himself and others.

On Wednesday, Johnny Smalls reportedly stole a weapon and clothing from another person and then allegedly made threats to harm himself, according to a press release from Mikayla Moskov, with Horry County. Smalls is reportedly wanted by the Horry County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear.

He is known to spend time in the Old Kings Highway and Pond Road areas of Georgetown, the release said.

“Based upon Smalls’ actions and statements the last time he was seen, it is believed he may be a risk to himself or others. If you encounter Smalls, we would urge you to avoid approaching him and instead reach out to authorities.”

Anyone with information about Smalls’ location is asked to contact the Horry County Police Department at 843-915-TIPS (8477) or email crimetips@horrycounty.org.
