Horry County police are investigating a death.
Captain John Harrelson, with the Horry County Police Department, confirmed a death investigation in the 700 block of Reef Road.
According to Harrelson, William Sneeringer died on Reef Road on July 6 and was a suspect in the death of Jennifer Dawn Fitchett, who was found in a wooded area near Palmetto Pointe Boulevard.
A police report says officers were called to a home on Reef Road for a possible suicide. Officers found Sneeringer in the backyard deceased with a shot gun beside him.
