Horry County Government has activated a debris hotline for residents in the county’s unincorporated areas impacted by recent flooding.
Residents with questions about debris pickup can call 843-915-7777, according to a press release from the county. The debris hotline will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until further notice.
Horry County also provided a map of impacted areas that will be serviced during debris pick-up, the release says. This map can be found here.
County crews will only pick up storm debris along county-maintained roads in the unincorporated areas of the county impacted by flooding, according to the release. Crews will begin pick-up on Monday in the areas from the North Carolina/South Carolina state line to Highway 9, including the Aberdeen area, and then move south of Highway 9 to cover the areas of Polo Farms, Tallwood Drive, and Starbluff.
“The crews will continue, making several passes, working their way from the north end of the county to the south end, following the receding water,” states the release. “The county’s curbside debris program will only remove flood-damaged construction and demolition debris, flood-damaged appliances and white goods, flood-damaged electronics, and household hazardous waste. Regular household trash and vegetative debris will not be collected.”
