Horry and Georgetown Counties move to OPCON 4 ahead of Tropical Storm Florence

Georgetown and Horry Counties are moving to Operating Condition (OPCON) Four at noon,Saturday in preparation for any impact from Tropical storm Florence.

According a post on the Georgetown County Facebook page OPCON four indicates an “alert” status as the county’s emergency management division monitors the storm along with state and national officials. 

The Georgetown and Horry County Emergency Operations Centers has not been activated. However key staff are in place and making preparations. 

Officials are urging people to prepare for the storm. Have a plan in place, make sure you have a Hurricane Kit ready and know your evacuation routs. Mor information can be found on the counties Emergency Management websites.
