GALIVANTS FERRY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Fire Rescue crews are responding to a crash on Juniper Bay Road where officials confirm at least one person has died.
A tweet from the department says crews responded to Juniper Bay Road and Clay Hill Road in the Galivants Ferry area of Horry County for a car crash. The first units reported a “multi-vehicle” crash, although officials have not said how many cars are involved.
Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden tells us the person who died was Betty Jean Hill of Galivants Ferry. She was 40-years-old and died at the scene.
Fire officials say two other patients had to be extracted from the wreckage. Both of those victims suffered life-threatening injuries. One was airlifted for treatment and the other was taken by ambulance. Another patient suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
