Green Sea Floyds Middle School now has its new fitness center.
WBTW News13 reported in May the school won a national grant for a $100,000 fitness center.
On Monday, kids from the school got to test out the new, state-of-the-art equipment.
Richard Gore helped write the grant for the school, and said because there are limited resources for kids to get physical activity in the area, this will make a big difference.
“It helps our kids with their self-esteem. It helps with their motivation. It just gives our students the opportunity to do things we hadn’t been able to do to be honest, and it will develop our kids for the next level when they get to high school, so it’s a win-win for everybody,” says Richard Gore, with the school.
The school was chosen as one of three schools in South Carolina and one of 12 in the country.
