The Grand Strand Humane Society is in need of donations to help the shelter recover after Hurricane Florence.
The storm didn’t damage the shelter, but the preparations and evacuations were costly.
For staff at GSHS, the focus isn’t on adoptions, but rather on saving stray animals and reuniting them with their owners.
“We also want to be able to help those outlying areas that are experiencing that horrendous flooding right now,” says Jess Wnuk, the executive director of GSHS. “We want to be able to help those communities as well. So, that’s our plan, is to be able to open up our kennels to those in need.”
