MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The Grand Strand Humane Society is in need of drivers to help evacuate animals as Hurricane Florence approaches the South Carolina coast.
A Facebook post from the animal shelter, located at 3241 Mr. Joe White Avenue, says workers are evacuating the animals as a precaution to the nearing hurricane. Shelter workers ask anyone who is traveling to the northeast region and has room for a kitten or dog to call or text Jess at 860.944.3940.
Rides are needed for animal drop-off points in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
The shelter is also in need of plastic carrying cases for the dogs and cats. Crate donations are being accepted at the shelter.
