Georgetown City Fire Department crews saved a dog from a fire after being given information about the dog from the resident.

“This event had a great outcome as crews obtained the necessary information quickly from the occupant and worked together with the interior crew to find the dog and save it,” said a post on the department’s Facebook page. “Great work from everyone limiting damage to the occupancy and saving the dog!”

The department also said in the post it’s important to give information about pets to fire crews quickly.

“It’s always very important to relay information to the crews working on scene at fires!”

Some information fire crews need include:

  • the type of pet
  • the number of pets
  • the sizes and colors of pets
  • the possible location of the pet
