Georgetown County crews will continue aerial mosquito spraying next week. 

According to a press release from the county, mosquito control efforts started on Thursday night and will continue next week, with aerial sprays scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. 

“Leading up to that, our staff will continue with truck sprays each morning and evening through the weekend, covering as many residential areas as possible,” states the release. Aerial spraying will occur from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., weather permitting.

The schedule listed in the release is:

Monday, Oct. 1:

  • Andrews
  • Browns Ferry
  • Choppee
  • DeBordieu
  • Lambertown
  • Maryville/Esterville
  • Murrells Inlet
  • Plantersville
  • Sampit
  • Santee

Tuesday, Oct. 2:

  • Georgetown
  • Pawleys Island
  • Penny Royal
  • Pleasant Hill

If pilots cannot complete sprays within the time allotted in the early morning, they will complete their areas starting at 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday evenings, according to the release. Impacted beekeepers who have signed up for notifications will be notified and beekeepers who would like to sign up for notifications can call 843-545-3615.
