GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WBTW)- Georgetown County deputies are looking for a man who tried to abduct a woman while she was jogging in Garden City on Sunday morning.
According to a police report, the victim said the suspect tried to aggressively grab her at the intersection of South Waccamaw and Moonfish Drive.
The police report states the woman first saw the suspect’s vehicle on Cedar Avenue in Horry County and he tried to talk to her. She kept running crossing into Georgetown County and she said the man approached her again. This time, he tried to grab her arm and she pulled away. She told deputies the man whispered something, but she couldn’t make out what he said. After he tried to grab her two more times, she screamed and got away and hid until she saw her husband.
Lisa May is vacationing here too, and said when she’s here that’s the path she runs.
“I think that’s very scary for me because I actually ran here this morning and I had my headphones on and I don’t ever really pay attention because I think this area is so safe,” said May.
The suspect is described as middle aged man with dark hair and was seen driving a dark colored SUV.
Authorities used the victim’s fitness tracker to find the exact location where the incident happened.
