GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – One Myrtle Beach family that evacuated to the Upstate area ahead of Hurricane Florence will be going home with a little something extra following the storm.
A Bon Secours St. Francis Health System spokesperson said the Summers family were forced to leave their coastal town and ended up welcoming their baby girl, Nicolina, to the world on Sunday.
Hospital officials said Nicolina made her arrival four weeks before her due date, catching her parents a bit off-guard.
“As it was a bit unexpected, the family was unprepared for the birth and hadn’t brought any of their new baby supplies with them,” Bon Secours spokesperson said. “So, Bon Secours is providing the family with a car seat and other necessities they may need until they’re able to get back home.”
