Firefighters with Horry County Fire Rescue are assisting the South Carolina Forestry Commission in response to a brush fire in the western part of the county, according to a Facebook post by HCFR.

The fire is estimated to be between 20 and 25 acres large, in the area of Highway 378 and Pee Dee Highway. The first call about the fire came in at 4:15 Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters will be plowing around the patchy and swampy area where the fire is burning. The Battalion Chief at the scene says the fire appears to be slow moving.
