CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Fire crews are fighting a woods fire in the Conway area.
Horry County Fire Rescue brush trucks and engines joined the City of Conway Fire Department to fight the fire at 2409 Freds Lane, according to a post on HCFR’s Facebook page. The call for the fire came in around 3:30 p.m.
No structures are threatened by the fire, the post said. “The South Carolina Forestry Commission is coming to plow and more HCFR crews have arrived to help decrease any spreading.”
HCFR said in another Facebook post that investigators “ brought the drone out to see this woods fire on Freds Lane from up above.”
In a Facebook post around 5:40 p.m., HCFR said the fire is under control and has spread to about 13 acres in size.
