Horry County Emergency Communications issued a CODE RED message for some neighborhoods near Myrtle Beach.
The map pictured above shows the affected areas, which includes the Socastee and Burgess areas. Officials are encouraging residents to evacuate now before conditions get bad.
Nearby emergency shelter is available at Whittemore Park Middle School, Palmetto Bay Elementary, Conway High School, and Conway Recreation Center.
Residents are warned that if you do not evacuate, your home may become isolated and power and water outages may occur.
