Driver cited after hitting pedestrian in Myrtle Beach crosswalk

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A driver was cited after hitting a pedestrian in a Myrtle Beach crosswalk Friday morning.

Myrtle Beach police responded to the scene of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle Friday morning.

Captain Joey Crosby with the police department says officers were called to 13th Avenue South and Kings Highway around 8:15 a.m. after a person was hit by a car at the intersection. Officers found the victim, an adult male, lying in the street when they arrived.

The victim suffered major injuries, according to Capt. Crosby, but is expected to recover.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for failure to yield to the pedestrian, Capt. Crosby confirms.
