MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach hotel will host a ribbon cutting Monday to celebrate its retro makeover.

A release from the Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation says the Waikiki Village Retro Hotel originally opened in 1963. The Mid-Century Modern motel is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and was renovated with historic tax credits to highlight its original “retro” splendor and retain its mid-century charm.

The owners are so excited to unveil the newly refurbished rooms and all the upgraded amenities, the release states. Visiting the Waikiki Village Retro Hotel is like stepping back in time with all the conveniences of today.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Waikiki Village Motel on Monday, August 27 at 4:30 p.m. Join this historic moment by registering at https://bit.ly/2Bv0g65
