MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – DHEC tested 155 people for tuberculosis last month after someone tied to Carolina Forest High School was diagnosed with the disease, DHEC disclosed on Wednesday afternoon.

DHEC said “no additional cases of active disease have been identified.” Results were mailed on April 6 to people who were tested, DHEC said.

Neither DHEC nor Horry County Schools identified the person who was diagnosed with tuberculosis. They also didn’t disclose the person’s tie to the school.

DHEC said in late March it would return to the school in eight weeks to re-test anyone it thinks was exposed.

A sick person would be allowed to return to school after they are confirmed to no longer be contagious, spokesperson Lisa Bourcier told News13 in March.
