MURRELLS INLET, SC (WBTW) – Some people living in Garden City and Murrells Inlet will soon vote on a project to dig up a channel.
A Georgetown County spokesperson says voters along that channel will decide on a tax referendum on Tuesday, May 29. When News13 reported on this story last month, residents and businesses said the channel is usually too shallow for boats, regardless of the tides.
Homeowners who want the channel dredged say the project could cost at least $7 million.
