Councilman: Bridge issue leads to closure of portion of Highway 90

A well-traveled portion of Highway 90 in Horry County has been shut down to traffic, according to the county’s road closure map.

That map shows the stretch of closed road as between Old Highway 90 and Ninety Park Drive, near Highway 22.

Horry County Councilman Johnny Vaught tells News13 the closure is tied to a bridge that has been compromised on Highway 90 in the area of Jones Big Swamp. He says crews are addressing the problem.

No word on when the road will reopen to traffic.
