A teenager died after being struck by three cars in the Socastee area on Thursday. 

Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler identified the victim as 17-year-old Jeromy Davila-Hurst. 

According to Fowler, Davila-Hurst was staying in the Socastee area with family. He also has family in California. 

Fowler says the crash happened around 12:20 a.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Hwy 544 and Jones Road, in the area of Socastee Community Church. The victim died at the scene of multiple trauma.

Fowler also says the death is considered accidental. 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
