GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – A teen died in a car crash in Georgetown County on Wednesday.
Cpl. Sonny Collins, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, says the single vehicle crash happened around 10 a.m. on Powell Road. A Lexus ran off the left side of the road and hit a tree. The driver was the only occupant and they died at the scene. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
Georgetown County deputies also responded to the scene to assist, according to Jason Lesley, the sheriff’s office public information officer.
The Georgetown County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 16-year-old Justus Ali Manigault, of Georgetown. Manigault’s cause of death was multiple body trauma.
