One person is confirmed dead after rescue crews responded to a call about a possible drowning in the Fantasy Harbour District near Myrtle Beach.
Horry County Fire and Rescue responded to the call at the RiverWalk Inn and Suites at about 8:51 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Tony Casey with the HCFR. Horry County Coroner Robert Edge was called out shortly after.
On Thursday, the Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the man who died as Enrique Nava Nava, 36. He died of asphyxiation due to drowning.
The coroner’s office said bystanders pulled Nava Nava out of the pool, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.
