One person has died after a crash involving a pedestrian in Myrtle Beach. 

Cpl. Tom Vest, with the Myrtle Beach Police Department, says around 12:44 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to the area of 1307 North Kings Highway for a crash involving a pedestrian. 

According to Vest, a car hit the pedestrian on North Kings Highway near the Taco Bell.

The pedestrian died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, Vest also says. The driver of the car stayed on the scene. 

The MBPD Traffic Unit is investigating the crash. 

Coroner Robert Edge identified the man who died as 22-year-old Jeffrey Harris, of Cleveland, Ohio, and said Harris died at the scene from massive trauma.
