One person is dead after an ATV crash in the Galivants Ferry area.
Horry County police received a call for service for an ATV crash around 9:15 a.m. on Monday near Black Island Road in the Galivants Ferry area, said Mikayla Moskov, with the Horry County Police Department. South Carolina Highway Patrol took over the scene and case.
The crash happened overnight and a person was found dead on Monday, said Cpl. Sonny Collins, with the SCHP. The male driver struck a gate and crashed.
SCHP is investigating.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden identified the person who died as 28-year-old Jeffrey Burton of North Myrtle Beach.
