MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Forestbrook Road in Myrtle Beach Monday evening.
Cpl. Sonny Collins says a 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck and a bicyclist were both traveling north on Forestbrook Rd. when the pickup truck driver ran into the cyclist from behind. The biker died as a result of the crash.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden identifies the victim as 67-year-old Ivor Chester. He was originally from Guyana, according to McSpadden, but had been living in Myrtle Beach for at least 25 years..
No charges are expected, according to Cpl. Collins.
It’s unclear if the bicyclist was wearing any reflective gear.
South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
