MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Two people died Wednesday night after a reported shooting, Horry County police announced on Twitter.
Police responded to the Flintlake Apartments in the Forestbrook area near Myrtle Beach around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday. Officers grabbed the door and noticed it was open, so they made their way into the home. When officers went upstairs, they found two victims on the floor, the police report states.
A third person was in the home when police arrived and is referenced as a witness, but police did not provide that person’s age or relation to the victims on the report.
The report says the male victim was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center, but the coroner confirms the man died at the hospital. Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick identified the deceased as Samantha Cox, 27, and Brian Cox, 31. The two were married and originally from Indiana, Hendrick confirms.
The shooting appears to be domestic, police said. “We are not seeking any suspects at this time.”
UPDATE: The initial investigation has revealed this incident to be domestic in nature and there appears to be no threat to the public at large. More to come! https://t.co/6GYYjhGBQ0— Horry County PD (@horrycountypd) May 2, 2018
