CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – More food trucks could come to Conway, as the city council approved new rules Monday, allowing them on private property.
Previously, they could only set up on public property. One food truck owner at Monday’s city council meeting says the law change comes at a good time.
Conway recently decided to allow street performers called buskers in certain parts of downtown.
“Now, you’re going to have a lot of music, a lot of performances and now, some good food, all in an urban, cultural, social environment that I think is going to be great for Conway,” said Drew Basilicato, owner of the Trojan Cow food truck.
“It just sort of speaks to a whole different vibe,” said Conway mayor Barbara Blain-Bellamy. “Food trucks go in communities where there’s a lot of activity.”
Food truck owners can apply for permits right away as part of the city’s pilot program.
