CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Conway City Council has approved a final reading of a hospitality fee and a final reading to create an “A” tax.

Conway City Council held a meeting on Monday. News13’s Sabrina Shutters was at that meeting.

The City of Myrtle Beach voted in March to no longer send accommodation taxes to Horry County.

In March, News13 reported that the City of Myrtle Beach had filed a lawsuit against Horry County claiming the county had illegally been collecting “tens of millions of dollars per year” through a hospitality fee.

In February, News13 reported that North Myrtle Beach City Council approved first readings of ordinances that would bring money from hospitality and accommodations taxes back to the city.
