Myrtle Beach leaders say they need help from community members after flyers ‘promoting a racially biased point of view’ were posted on utility poles in the city and elsewhere in Horry County.
Myrtle Beach City Government posted the information on Facebook Wednesday night.
The post said, “This message does NOT represent who we are as a community. All of the illegally posted flyers identified so far on public property have been removed by city staff.”
The post encourages people who see one of these posters within the city to contact the Construction Services Office at 843-918-1111. If you see someone trying to put up such a poster on public property, you’re told to call 9-1-1 immediately.
News13 has reached out to the city to get more information on what exactly the posters say, but we have not yet heard back.
Count on News13 for updates as they are made available.
