CONWAY, SC (WBTW)- It’s been nearly a week since a father and son were found shot outside their Conway home, and their killer is still on the loose.
Robbie Ford was studying at Clemson University and his father Robert Ford Jr. was an active member of Good Hope Baptist Church. He grew up in this church and was the choir director.
“He liked a variety of Christian music it could be the old gospel songs to contemporary stuff. He just liked music,” said Brent Groome, a Deacon at Good Hope Baptist Church.
Brent Groome and Robert sang together in church, but this past Sunday was different.
“Of course Sunday you try to go through the motions, but it wasn’t a regular service and our pastor did a good job of recognizing it was not going to be a regular service,” said Groome.
Last Saturday, Robert and Robbie were found shot and killed at this home off Highway 19. Police call the case a homicide, but those who knew them are left with a lot of questions.
“Dealing with a loss is one thing. Dealing with the circumstances of the loss is another. You’re left with a lot of why’s,” said Groome.
Groome believes Robert would want his fellow church members to remember one thing.
“We’re not promised tomorrow, so appreciate each other today, lift one another up and keep trying to move forward,” said Groome.
The father and son’s funeral is Saturday, August, 25th. Police said they are actively investigating. They have not released any suspect information or a possible motive.
