CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Schools will receive a gift from Coastal Carolina alumnus and cornerback for the Washington Redskins, Josh Norman.
A Facebook post from the school district says Normal announced his intentions to donate $50,000 to Horry County Schools to assist with recovery and support efforts after the historic flooding from Hurricane Florence.
“We are excited to receive such a generous donation from an individual who has proven his compassion and humanitarian spirit for helping communities,” stated Dr. Rick Maxey, Horry County Schools Superintendent. “We are grateful beyond words.”
This donation is made possible by the Josh Norman’s Starz24 Foundation which provides enrichment to children through community events and youth programs. With an emphasis on fitness and teamwork, Starz24 challenges the youth to participate and excel in areas that help develop strong interpersonal skills and awareness of the world around them.
